Ok so it's been almost 2 months since my last post. But in that time I've amassed a pretty decent amount of White Scars (birthday's help :D)

I now have about 2k worth. Anyway here's what I have now.

For the Khan!

So, as everyone knows, The Space Marines are getting a new codex release this Saturday. What does this mean for me? Well as someone who has a LOT of Space Marine models (including Chaos) I have never actually collected them from the marine codex (I had a few space marines back in 3rd Ed.). So I decided that I was gunna start one, I immediately knew what chapter I wanted to do, The White Scars. They are probably one of the least known about first founding legions so it will be hard to do.

I love ancient History and Mongolia is no different. I think I should be able to grab some great inspiration from Mongolian history.

Painting white also isn't as bad as it seems, I'm happy to admit  I can probably paint Scars better than Space Wolves (who I've collected or MANY years now).

Anyway, I've ordered the White Scars Collector's Edition of the new 'dex and a Tactical Squad and the new Librarian so that will be a good start, and of course many bikes are to follow.

Here is my first completed White Scar, The Man himself Kor'Sarro Khan, Master of the Hunt, Captain of the 3rd Co. Let me know what you guys think.
I'm still indecisive about whether to  weather (lol) him or not, if so I will use powder's around the bottom of the legs, and maybe give him some minor scratches.

I'll also be getting another Kor'Sarro to mount on Moondraken (his bike).

Obstinate Fury!

Ok so here is my Finished Iron Warriors Land Raider 'Obstinate Fury'.

It came out pretty good considering it once belonged to a friend of mine who painted it quick thickly when he was younger, alas here it is.

Iron Within!

Hey, so a few months ago I participated in the 24hr Hobby Marathon at the Camberwell GW.
The idea was to buy 750 points worth of models and make/pain/game with them.

Anyway I've finally gotten around to finishing the first 2 units, two, 5-man CSM squads.

I decided when I was making all these models that I wanted Perturabo's Trident of Warsmiths Forrix, Falk and Kroeger. Anyway I have made all 3 but for now only Kroeger is finished.

I have also a Lascannon guy I had lying around too.

Decimate!

So I was looking at my current Iron Warriors army and thought "I don't have enough Daemon Engines". It was then that I remembered that I have a Thousand Sons Decimator Engine from Forge Wolrd. I painted it up last year, and while happy with it, it was kind of boring and actually looked more Alpha Legion than Thousand Sons, I was eventually going to make it more Tzeentchy but I never got around to it.

I then decided that I needed to repaint it for the IVth legion. I only started it at about 7:00 last night but here is the progress.

What it looked like before the re-paint.
Iron Warriors scheme so far, the yellow panels indicate where the chevrons will go, still working out where they'll go on the upper body.

Final Duel Update!

So I finished the 'Duel' for Games Workshop Southland's monthly painting competition (I chose duels, as I won the previous one).

So after a LOT of the competitors either didn't finish, never started or gave up/cracked the shits, it was down to only two people and a staff member (who didn't finish theirs OR have the ability to win anyway).

Alas we both won, I the 40k one with my "Lion and the Wolf" Duel, and my friedn Tom won the Fantasy one with his Beastmen Arm Wrestle.

The photos of my Duel are below. Thanks.

Ravenwing HQ's!!!

So I received another box of Black Knights yesterday, my goal was to have these 3 bikers be converted into a HQ retinue to accompany Sammael into battle (when I get him that is).

First up is the Librarian, I used a spare Turmiel from DV and cut him at the waist and mounted him on the bike, pretty straight forward, but it works.

Next I worked on a Techmarine, I used the Chest piece that comes with all Space Marine Tanks, the head is from a Venerable Dreadnought, I then used spare servo-arms for a servo-harness and finally a Bretonian Lance for a power lance (Str 5 AP 3 on the charge), being wielded by the Ravenwing Banner arm (because it's all bionic).

Finally I decided to make an Interrogator Chaplain, this kit-bash was simple but effective, I used the head, crozius head and smok dispensers from a spare Serephicus model I had, the rest of him is made up of Black Knight parts, his right shoulder is from the Death Company and I used the book from the old Sammael model I had (he's in pieces thanks to my Alaskan Malamute, he decided he was a chew toy).

I also completed this 10 man Veteran Squad, they are kitted out with:
  • 3 x Plasma Pistols
  • 2 x Plasma Guns
  • 1 x Plasma Cannon
  • 5 x Storm Shields
The idea is that I either combat squad them ( the 2 Plasma Gunners and the Plasma Cannon sit back with 2 other guys, while the 3 Plasma Pistols move ahead with a HQ in a Razorback) the other option is to combine them and put all 10 in a Drop Pod, get out put the 5 Storm Shields at the front and hunt heavy infantry and light armour, I know the Cannon is wasted here but if they don't kill them all he'll do damage the turn after.
